What are Hosting Plans?

A hosting solution includes saving and/or sharing certain web content on a server handled by a hosting distributor. There are various groups of hosting services used for different ends, so let's have a look at them. Doing so, you can pick what you need, depending on whether you'd like to launch a web site, mailbox accounts, or to share files with buddies and colleagues.

- File hosting: a service provided by certain vendors, which lets you share bulky files. These could be disk images, motion pictures, audio files, archived files, and so on. This solution is also known as file storage, and its single designation is to share files, since it does not support web site uploading. As soon as the files are uploaded, you will either receive a randomly generated download link for each of them, or you will be able to survey a register of all the files in a directory, but you will be unable to see .html or .php website files in your browser. Free-of-charge file storage packages often include advertisements next to the download links, while a timer forces you to wait for a given spell of time to perceive them. A given file can be downloaded with limited speed. If you run a paid file hosting plan, there are no restrictions as to how many files you can upload/download at once, and also there is no limit in regard to the download speed or the file size.

Now, with the assistance of the cPanel hosting retailers, "file hosting" is being renamed to the more stylish "cloud hosting". This is an entirely distorted interpretation of the literal connotation of "cloud hosting". A real cloud hosting environment would share the workload between separate bunches of hosting servers in a cluster, which are devoted to serving different hosting services (email, web space, stats, DNS, databases, web hosting Control Panel, etc.) So, the file hosting solution is only a type of a data storage hosting solution, not a cloud hosting one. It's not even close.

- Image hosting: resembling file hosting; some corporations offer a hosting solution for pictures only. This hosting kind is appropriate if you wish to share a huge quantity of images with friends or partners since the solution is commonly free of charge. You will get a randomly generated link for each pic or album and you can then share this link. As with the file storage solution, .html and .php files are not supported, so the service cannot be utilized for web pages.

- Email hosting: a service committed to taking care of your mail addresses. Some firms offer hosting services for web pages, but do not provide an email service. If you want to get an e-mail address with your domain name but do not desire to run a site, then the e-mail hosting solution is what you need. You can create e-mail address accounts and administer them, but there will be no web service for the domain. The email hosting solution includes incoming POP/IMAP and outgoing SMTP e-mail servers.

- Video hosting: this service allows you to upload and share video files. You can either share a link to a certain video, or you can embed the video clip in your web site that is hosted somewhere else. The benefit of using this approach in lieu of uploading the video in a web hosting account is that the video file creates a certain amount of CPU load, so with a handful of video files and a few hundred web site viewers, you may have a problem with your hosting reserves. Embedding the video will enable you to keep as many video clips as you want without hassling about system supplies.

- Hosting: this is the service that you need if you would like to own a site. To some extent, it involves all of the aforesaid hosting groups since, along with your web pages, you can also host pics and files, you can set up databases and e-mail address accounts, upload video files, etc. At Niaguis Web Solutions you can take a peek at shared hosting and dedicated server accounts that permit you to have all of the abovementioned services in a single location. There may be restrictions based on the type of hosting service that you've settled on - a free hosting plan, a paid shared web hosting account, a VPS or a dedicated server. Depending on that, your hosting account may be better or worse juxtaposed to the usual e-mail/file/video/image hosting accounts that are planned for particular content only.
